WOUT DILLEN

Highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in Textual Scholarship and Digital Scholarly Editing. Experienced in community building within Digital Humanities, as demonstrated by the Lexicon of Scholarly Editing (incl. 9 international contributors), and co-organizing DH conferences (e.g. DH Benelux 2015). Quick learner of computer technologies: experience with Mac, Windows, and Linux (Ubuntu); fluent in (TEI) XML, HTML, and CSS; basic knowledge of XSLT, Python and JavaScript; experience in website development – both static HTML/CSS/JS websites and advanced WordPress installations; skilled in Photoshop. Multilingual profile: fluent in Dutch, English, and French; basic knowledge of German; minimal knowledge of Swedish and Italian.

April 2017 to Present: UAntwerp Coordinator CLARIAH-VL
Coordinator of the Antwerp division of the DARIAH-VL and subsequent CLARIAH-VL consortia (part of DARIAH-BE). Liaison between DH projects at the University of Antwerp; point of contact for new projects; work towards a solution for current hosting and sustainability problems. Development of pilot projects at the Centre for Manuscript Genetics (CMG), e.g. collaboration on new modules for the Beckett Digital Manuscript Project(BDMP). (Co-)coordination and teaching of courses. Organization of platform{DH} Lecture Series and training activities.

April 2016 to March 2017: ER position at DiXiT (Marie Curie ITN)
Postdoctoral research at the Högskolan i Borås (Sweden) as part of the Marie Curie Initial Training Network on Digital Scholarly Editing: DiXiT. Project title: Digital Scholarly Editing and Memory Institutions. Secondments at the Swedish Royal Library as well as memory institutions across Belgium.

Conducted research towards a Ph.D. thesis titled Digital Scholarly Editing for the Genetic Orientation. The Making of a Genetic Edition of Samuel Beckett’s Works. Part of a larger ERC project supervised by Dirk Van Hulle (FP7/2007-2013; ERC grant agreement n°31360911), hosted by the University of Antwerp.

Oct. 2011 to Sept. 2012: Preparatory Research Grant ‘Opvangmandaat FWO’
One-year research grant offered by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) to promising scholars who want to prepare for a Ph.D. scholarship application. Granted by the University of Antwerp.
